Blessing Okagbare Ighoteguonor came second on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat,Morocco,in the 100metres event at the first IAAF Diamond league.
Blessing ran a season's best of 11.11seconds into a -1.3metres per second(mps) headwind to come second behind Jamaican Elaine Thompson who ran 11.02seconds.
Blessing's time is the third fastest time by an African woman in the event so far this year after the Ivorian duo of Murielle Ahoure and the reigning African games fastest woman Marie-Josee Ta Lou who ran 11.02 and 110.5 respectively at the opening leg of the money-spinning IAAF Diamond league meeting in Doha,Qatar on May 6, 2016.
