Somali court sentences 43 Al Shabaab militants to death.The member of the Jihadist group were captured when fighting between Puntland security forces and Al Shabaab in March this year.

Puntland State Attorney general Abdullahi Hirsi Elmi,said that the members have been charged under the Anti-terrorism laws of Puntland state.

''These members  admitted to being Al Shabaab members and were using boats to wreck havoc in Puntland.They killed and injured people and displaced people and they have been charged under Puntland laws.''said Abdullahi Hirsi Elmi.

54 minors have been exempted from death charges and sent to rehabilitation centers within Puntland state.

The Attorney general said ''all the sentenced members of Al Shabaab will have the opportunity to resort to the court of appeal and then the final decision will be made.''

This is the biggest Al Shabaab members in history ever sentenced to death at one time.13 members were sentenced to death by a firing squad in Puntlland state in 2013.
