Nigeria's Lauritta Wins Gold, Sets New World Record at Rio Paralympics
Nigerian female representative at Rio 2016 ParaLympics,Lauretta Onye has handed Nigeria first medal in the athletes event,winning Gold in the women shot-Put F40 on day 4 of the ParaLympic event.
Her first threw of 7.83m saw her break her world record of 7.72m set at the 2015 IPC world athletics Championships in Doha.Her second throw landed at 7.54m,while she went one centimeter further on her third attempt.
She unleashed an astonishing throw of 8.40 on her fourth attempt to win the Gold medal in the event.
Her medal is the seventh Nigeria medal won in the event.
